Treating the Liver

hands performing examination on abdomen

We all know that the Liver is the largest organ in the body, it is essential for the metabolism of drugs, hormones and the products of inflammation, but are we competent at treating it osteopathically?

This course will look at the symptoms of functional liver complaints and review the anatomy of the region. Medical safety tests and osteopathic diagnosis will be covered. Treatment methods will include local and distal approaches and cover direct and indirect methods of correction. The course is open to anyone with an interest in visceral osteopathy, previous experience is an advantage but not essential.

Phil Austin lectures in Visceral osteopathy across Europe. His approach to visceral osteopathy is essentially practical, based on methods of assessment and treatment that flow from osteopathic understanding. His methods are readily included within the framework of osteopathic treatment and are designed to improve the osteopath's confidence when approaching more complex cases.
