Osteopathic Approaches to the Pregnant Mother Parts 1 & 2
This is a two day course part one is open to all, though to attend on Sunday you must have either been on the Saturday or have attended a similar course with Averille previously. The course will be held at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Manchester which provides a perfect setting for study in a relaxing environment. Lunch is included in the price of both courses to encourage informal discussion and networking.
Part 1- the Pregnant Mother
This course provides a solid foundation for the assessment and treatment of pregnant patients. Averille will cover the changes that take place in maternal physiology and how this influences biomechanics. Attendees will be introduced to the changes that occur to the viscera, spine and pelvis, they will be show methods of assessment and gentle methods of treatment both distal and local which will compliment other approaches they may have learned in the past.
Part 2- The Child in Utero
Attendance limited by the conditions above. This course offers a deeper insight into assessment and treatment with emphasis on optimal foetal positioning, the management of the mother in the last trimester and the importance of post-natal care.
